FAQ
Where do lessons take place?
I teach in person at my studio in Salford (M50 2RP) and online via Zoom.
I HAVE ACCESS NEEDS, IS THAT OK?
I am passionate about making the studio an inclusive space for all, and will do my best to accommodate you.
WHAT WILL LESSONS BE LIKE?
Lessons currently take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings. These can be arranged as either weekly 30 minute lessons or weekly/fortnightly 60 minute lessons. I aim to keep students in the same slot each lesson where possible, although I can offer a degree of flexibility (see cancellation policy below)
Lessons are very much tailored towards your voice and your goals, but generally consist of warm ups, technical exercises and applications into songs.
DO YOU OFFER FREE TRIALS?
For 1-2-1 lessons, I offer a 20 minute free trial for us to meet each other and work out your goals together.
HOW MUCH DO LESSONS COST AND HOW DO I PAY?
The standard cost of lessons is £22.50 for 30 minute weekly lessons, or £45 for weekly or fortnightly hourly lessons. I also offer a discount for students and those on lower incomes, so do enquire about this if necessary.
Lessons are paid for monthly in advance, via recurring direct debit or BACS transfer between 1st and 5th of the month. This must be set up before sessions commence. Information regarding how to set this up is included in your enrolment pack.
CANCELLATION POLICY
I know that life happens and we can have last minute work or uni deadlines etc which occasionally might mean that you can’t attend your lesson. All missed lessons are non refundable, however lessons cancelled with 48 hours notice or more are eligible for a make up lesson - this will be arranged at our nearest mutual convenience, and must be taken within 6 weeks of the cancellation. Any missed make up lessons cannot be rescheduled. Should you wish to stop lessons, one month’s notice is required please.
I love to sing but would prefer a group environment, how can you help?
Joy Community Choir is an affordable and accessible environment for all who want to sing for fun whilst also building their voices in the safety of a fun and friendly group. We are always on the look out for new members, and there are no auditions or the need to read sheet music.
For more information, please head to the choir page.
